MONROE CARRELL JR. CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AT VANDERBILT

Located on the Vanderbilt University Medical Center campus in Nashville, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is a world-class children’s hospital.
Covalus provided medical equipment planning for the 766,258-square-foot, 206-bed, freestanding children’s hospital which includes eight hospital floors and an 11-floor medical office building. As a multi-phased construction project, Covalus planners incorporated expert management and cost evaluation throughout the project.
The Children’s Hospital’s focus on family-centered care makes it a unique treatment center, integrating some of the newest technologies and state-of-the-art concepts in pediatric healing. Services include emergency treatment, operating and radiology rooms, telemedicine, neonatal and pediatric ICUs, a myelosuppression unit, a conference center, performance theatre, food court, children's play areas, and a family resource center. The hospital offers a sibling playroom, business center, and kitchen and laundry facilities.
Throughout the VUMC campus, Covalus has provided medical equipment planning for various projects including the critical care tower, cancer center, surgery center, dialysis renovation, psychiatric transition renovation, surgical pathology, as well as numerous others. BRG was also involved in the off-campus One Hundred Oaks project, which was a renovation of a “dead mall” into a facility that houses more than 25 outpatient and clinical services.
