HENRY FORD HEALTH HOSPITAL

Covalus is currently providing strategic advisory and program management services to support Henry Ford Health’s new $2B program to redevelop the main Detroit, Michigan campus. Covalus also performed a diagnostic assessment of the campus, created the pre-conceptual budgets and schedules, and assisted with the team formation and setting foundational program goals.
As part of an existing academic partnership with Henry Ford, the program will include new healthcare spaces, renovation of existing spaces, and the enhancement of public and support spaces. The facility includes integrated inpatient and outpatient spaces, a new surgery platform with more than 40 operating rooms, and world-class diagnostic and lab spaces. This new stand-alone facility, planned in partnership with Michigan State University, will result in the system’s flagship academic medical center serving the Detroit community, the southeast Michigan region, and beyond.
Henry Ford Hospital’s 1-million-square-foot expansion would feature all private patient rooms, an expanded emergency department, intensive care units and advanced operating suites and more. The existing hospital would connect to the tower via tunnels and skywalks. The project will also include a Central Utility Plant and a new Parking Garage.
